1939 Lafrance Pumper Firetruck - $5000 (Colorado Springs)
Hi I have a 1939 Lafrance Pumper,has been sitting for 6 years, was running before parked, needs a clutch, needs battery, V12 engine, everything worked before parked, 23,000 miles, needs restoration, don’t know a lot about it, was a Nederland Colorado firetruck back in it’s days, pretty much all complete, have a clean Colorado title in hand

Jay Leno has one of those that he converted to a motorcycle hauler, I think got it from the Burbank airport for crazy cheap, like a few thousand dollars. These things are so ridiculously overbuilt and robust that it didn’t even take much work to get it running again after sitting outside for decades.

I wonder if that was made in Elmira NY where I grew up - LaFrance had a plant there back in the day anyway. Many of t he old copper fire extinguishers you often see used for decoration these days were made there.
